Play-Reading Marathon 2024: The Unbearable Heaviness of Being

The first prize-winning work in the stage play category of the 26th Taipei Literature Award, The Unbearable Heaviness of Being explores the themes of overweight and appearance anxiety in modern society. It transforms cultural symbols from the novel "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" and the classic biography "Anne Frank: The Diary of A Young Girl," intertwining the destinies of two girls through intertextuality. Set between the absurd and reality, it unfolds a story about "love" and "power."
