Magic in Chinese Style (that you all know about)
Written by veteran critic Tang Ching-kin, the play explores the complex interplay between reality and illusion, capturing the essence of modern societal struggles through a series of metaphorical vignettes.
The narrative features various characters: a cleaner who leaves the scene, an obstructionist clinging desperately to memories, a novelist who constantly revises their story, a poet who, unable to produce a poem, resorts to graffiti, an assassin unable to change history, and their target who strives to be remembered. The play weaves these lives into a tapestry that reflects on the blurred lines between historical accuracy and the individuals' perceptions, suggesting that the struggle for truth and memory is overshadowed by the overpowering nature of manipulated narratives.
