This production reimagines Heiner Müller's groundbreaking 1977 play "Hamletmachine." Initially performed in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou in 2010, it was revamped in 2012 as "Hamlet b. (2012 Greater China Version)." The play critically examines how global consumer culture influences artistic expression.

The narrative centers on the lead actor of the touring drama "Hamlet b.", who experiences a severe mental collapse under the overwhelming stress just before the final show. Meanwhile, Ophelia, an ardent theater enthusiast and loyal follower of "Hamlet b.", resigns from her job and journeys across regions to attend the landmark hundredth performance. While there is a growing push to enhance the cultural sector and bolster artistic endeavors, this increase in public engagement with the arts also sparks concerns over the encroachment on creative liberties.
