In the Solitude of Cotton Fields

A Cantonese staging of a seminal work by the French theatrical genius Bernard-Marie Koltès. This adaptation excavates the desire and violence hidden beneath language. Six actors from Hong Kong and Taiwan portray 36 scenes of transactional relationships between individuals. Through intense physical confrontations and bizarre dialogues, the play offers a penetrating look at modern humanity's irrepressible surging desires caught between "buying" and "selling". This reimagining brings to life the complex dynamics of human interactions, exposing the underlying currents of want and aggression that often drive our exchanges in contemporary society.
