i-D Generation: Natural High

It is the third “i-D Generation” youth theatre workshop and performance programme organised by On & On, emphasising a process that combines theatre workshops, lectures, social investigations, and creative performances to allow young participants to explore issues through creative activities under the guidance of mentors, leading to independent creative expression of their thoughts and feelings in public performances.

The whole project is inspired by the Greek tragedy "Dionysus", where the god of wine Dionysus debates with the ruler Pentheus about freedom, pleasure, discipline, and order—an ongoing debate that is reframed in the context of the 21st-century youth. How can one live naturally high?

Public Performance of "Natural High"

After more than four months of workshops, studies, and rehearsals, participants experience the intertwined love and hatred for order and pleasure, starting from their own lives, sorting out their thoughts and feelings, and performing independent and inclusive creative work.
