Fisher King 3

"Fisher King 3" draws from medieval Holy Grail legends and Grimm's fairy tales, utilising rich theatrical imagery and multimedia to delve into the theme of “trauma” and explore the hypersensory mental world of modern men scarred by their experiences. This play opens up a dialogue about the sensory overload and emotional scars that contemporary men navigate through, using a blend of symbols and multimedia to create a vivid and immersive experience.

Part of the inspiration for the play comes from the bestselling book "Fisher King & Handless Maiden" by renowned American psychologist Robert A. Johnson. The book discusses the classical stories of “Fisher King” and “Handless Maiden” - tales of trauma and healing. The stage adaptation by Chan Ping-chiu and Emily Cheng Yee-chao transforms these mystical narratives into a poetic visual spectacle, combining installations and video to bring the evocative imagery to life.
