[Table To-gather] Self Accusation (anxious director’s cut)

Self Accusation (anxious director’s cut)

Fifty years ago, "Self-Accusation" (Selbstbezichtigung) burst onto the scene, with a then 24-year-old playwright, Peter Handke, relentlessly rebelling against life and existence, shattering theatrical illusions and establishing a German-language classic.

Now, fifty years later, in a post-pandemic society where fervent cries seem dimmed, Donald Chung, a member of the “Table To-gather” and a creative born in the 1980s who studied in Switzerland, seeks to reimagine Handke's provocative text. He aims to penetrate contemporary systems and rules with life experiences, honestly exposing unease, disorientation, and confusion to the audience, initiating a collective self-investigation and accusation.

Four performers and one live musician will journey with the audience through the linguistic labyrinth set by Peter Handke. Integrating group collaboration, theatrical interaction, and language games, they explore how the 'self' of a new generation is shaped by the institution, seeking a language and voice that truly belong to 'us'.
