New Writing Workshop for Performers 2021 - Who Killed the Elephant

New Writing Workshop for Performers 2021 - Who Killed the Elephant

Following the "Day Camp: A New Writing Experience" in 2019, On & On has organised another workshop focused on new writing and its performance approaches, using the 2012 edition of "Who Killed the Elephant" as a focal point.

This intensive one-week workshop is structured into three parts. The first is led by resident playwright Wu King-yeung, who not only guides participants through the script of "Who Killed the Elephant" but also includes analyses of excerpts from two European new writings, "Far away" and "Electronic City", to explore their writing techniques and script structure. In the second part, performers Ceci Chan and Boat Chan from the 2021 edition of "Who Killed the Elephant"  share their insights on rehearsal processes and acting methods tailored to new writing. The final section involves participants in group rehearsals of selected segments, providing a hands-on experience to explore personal interpretive styles and delve into contemporary theatre aesthetics.

Date: 19-27/6/2021
